1 killed, two critically hurt in crash on Jefferson Ave. in Newport News
UPDATE: The man killed in this crash has been identified as 61-year-old James Miller, Cincinnati, Ohio. Police say the accident remains under investigation.
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – One person was killed and two people are in critical condition following a single-car accident Monday afternoon on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News.

Police say there were three people in the car, a Toyota Camry, at the time of the crash. A masculine occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two other occupants were taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.
Police say the 2nd masculine occupant was flown via Nightingale to the hospital, while a female occupant was driven in an ambulance.
A Newport News Police Department Crash Team is now on scene investigating. Jefferson Avenue is closed in both directions inbetween 12th Street and 16th Street.
