Two killed after car slams into tree in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A motorist and his passenger died early Friday when the car they were in crashed off a South Bay street at high speed, overturned and smashed into a large tree.

The driver of the black BMW lost control on Telegraph Canyon Road near Hilltop Park in Chula Vista shortly before Two:30 a.m., according to police.

The two masculine occupants of the vehicle died at the scene. Their names were withheld pending notification of kin.

Authorities closed the street inbetween Camino Entrada and Hilltop Drive through late morning to permit for investigation and cleanup.

My friend , Joe Sacamano, used to drive that road to work every day. He and friends used to race on it some nights and go one hundred twenty MPH. Never had a problem. Maybe someone left a greasy plate of beans on the roadway.

I shutter to think of prompt they were going if they slammed into a tree and then glided three hundred feet. I once wielded a 328I BMW and would be driving on the freeway and notice I was doing eighty MPH but it felt like 40. I am astonished I never got a ticket.

I gave up driving my motorcycle when I was cut off by a car and sent down a two hundred foot ravine that broke my arm, wrist and dog collar bone, to say nothing of the road rash and cuts I received. She left the scene and was never apprehended.
