On Thursday, August 31, 2017, staff at the Yucaipa High School became aware of allegations regarding a student who had an inappropriate relationship with an employee of Yucaipa-Calimesa joint unified school district.
On August 30, 2017, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Robert Soto, 58, was released in error from the West Valley Detention Center. Soto was booked on August Ten, 2017, for a misdemeanor battery warrant and he was classified as a mental health inmate. Employees misidentified Soto as another inmate who was scheduled to be released on August 30. Soto was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center – Behavioral Health in Colton by a deputy for services.
SACRAMENTO – California Attorney General Xavier Becerra today announced charges against Adriana Pinnisi for grand theft and identity theft in a case of embezzlement from her employer. Pinnisi pled not guilty when she was arraigned on August 28.
On August 29, 2017, at approximately 11:00 PM, Deputies from the Sheriff’s Central Station (Loma Linda Police), responded to a call of a man sitting in a vehicle, who had poured gasoline on himself and was hitting himself at Anderson Street and Prospect Avenue in Loma Linda.
Following an investigation of shots fired in a Redlands neighborhood last week, police have arrested two convicted felons in possession of firearms and high capacity magazines.

The end of summer is traditionally marked by the Labor Day holiday, a time for our country to reflect on the hard work of our fellow Americans. The long weekend is celebrated through picnics, pool parties, and barbecues, as families and friends love the last few days of summer before fall and winter treatment. Sadly, the Labor Day holiday is also one of the deadliest, with alcohol and drug impaired drivers endangering themselves and others on America’s roadways.
Highland Station deputies assisted Highland City Public Works with transients living in Warm Creek wash and tunnel under Base Line on Tuesday, Aug. 29. A deputy made contact with Carlos Camacho, 23, who was sleeping in the tunnel and conducted a records check on him. Camacho was found to be on active parole with a no bail warrant for his arrest.
On March 12, 2017, at about 8:53 PM, SBPD patrol officers were working in the area of the one thousand one hundred Block of N. Stoddard and heard approximately eight shots coming from the area of 11th Street and D Street. No nine hundred eleven calls were received regarding the shooting.

Donna Rantz, charged with embezzlement of some $30,000 from the Highland Woman’s Club, was in court again Monday, Aug. 28, and again had her case continued, this time to Oct. Twenty five for another “disposition/reset,” which means she still has not had a successful preliminary hearing. A preliminary hearing would include evidence to determine whether she should be held for trial.
On Sunday, August 27, 2017, at approximately Four:44 p.m., deputies from the Barstow Sheriff’s Station responded to Nipton Road and Interstate fifteen for a report of a bod found in the area. When deputies arrived they located a black masculine adult deceased at the scene.
On August 26, 2017, the Glen Helen Amphitheater hosted the “It’s Not Dead” festival. Deputies are assigned to the event to assist with security and to keep the peace. Over 9,366 people attended this all day event.
On August 26, 2017, at Ten:11 a.m., deputies from Sheriff’s Central Station responded to the eighteen thousand block of Cajon Blvd for a subject who suffered a gunshot wound. Deputies arrived and discovered the victim was shot in the face by the suspect, identified as Michael Kusch, 61, of San Bertnszardino.
On August 25, 2017, at approximately 8:45 pm, Deputy Khalid Alsuwadi responded to a report of an armed robbery in the City of Loma Linda. The victim received a text message from a known female juvenile acquaintance asking him to meet. The victim went to the female’s location where he spotted her with a group of other juveniles. Shortly after he arrived, a seventeen year old Hispanic masculine brandished a steel device and demanded the victim’s money. The victim refused and was assaulted. The victim fled the area and called sheriff’s dispatch.
Deputy Josh Gile responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in the City of Grand Terrace. The victim’s vehicle had been violated into and several items had been taken including an electronic tablet. The suspect used the tablet to make several unauthorized purchases on the victim’s online account.
On August 24, 2017, members of the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force (SBHTTF) received an anonymous peak reference a brothel in the city of San Bernardino. The anonymous peak was a direct result of the media report made on August Legal, 2017, regarding a brothel in the city of Chino.
San Bernardino, CA – Officers from the San Bermardino Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers in the Department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign. Traffic Enforcement Officers will conduct a DUI checkpoint on Friday August 23rd inbetween the hours of 6:00 p.m. and Two:00 a.m. in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests. Offices will conduct a DUI saturation on Monday August 28th from 0600-1600 hours.
On Wednesday, August 23, two thousand seventeen at 7:35 a.m. County Fire and Fontana Station deputies responded to seventeen thousand nine hundred twenty three Santa Ana Ave. following a report of a fire and possibly occupants inwards.
Rialto, Calif. – On August 23, two thousand seventeen at approximately 8:52 p.m., a silver Toyota Camry was disabled in the center median of eastbound State Route 210, east of Riverside Avenue. A silver Honda Accord was stopped behind the Toyota in the center median. A white Infiniti Q45, driven by Michael Jonathan Cuevas, was traveling eastbound on SR-210, drove into the center median and collided into the rear of the Honda. The Honda was then shoved forward into the Toyota. As a result of the collision, the occupants of the Honda sustained injuries.

For a while, it appeared that Donna Rantz may not display up for her hearing in San Bernardino Superior Court Department S2. She did not react when very first called for the morning session.
Law enforcement has been targeted for simply answering the call of duty.
On Friday, Aug. Eighteen, 2017, at approximately 8:25 p.m., deputies assigned to the Highland Station received a report of an armed robbery. The victim reported he was robbed at gunpoint of his cell phone and money at twenty seven thousand nine hundred fifty nine East Highland Ave.

On August 16, two thousand seventeen at 12:50 p.m. Deputies Michael Schlegel and Deputy Man Nicassio were assigned as a two-man unit patrolling the unincorporated area of San Bernardino at Baseline Road and Peppertree Lane. They observed an equipment disturbance on Gashaw Hussian’s vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop.

On Thursday, Aug. 17, two thousand seventeen at Five:56 p.m. Highland deputies were dispatched to the seven thousand block of Victoria Avenue after receiving a nine hundred eleven call of an brunt in progress. The caller said a man was hammering a woman and several witnesses observed the suspect hammering the victim in the face and head.
A woman is loaded into an ambulance following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Boulder Avenue and Atlantic Avenue on Friday, Aug. Legal. The woman’s car was disabled when it hit another vehicle at the intersection, but the 2nd vehicle left the scene.
