What It’s Indeed Like to Have a Bionic Penis

According to a fascinating Reddit AMA by someone who has one.

A 40-year-old man with a well-functioning penis implant recently did a Reddit AMA that delved into what hook-up is like for someone who can’t feel most of his penis. Five years ago, a car crash left the redditor — who did not disclose his name — with a spinal cord injury and he lost feeling in certain parts of his figure.

“Albeit I can walk some,” he said, “I still have partial paralysis including bowel, bladder and sexual function.” He does have feeling in a part of his penis the size of a dime, he noted. And thanks to his implant, he can now inflate a total erection and maintain it.

The way the implant works is that two inflatable cylinders are placed into the penis. A bulb is placed in the scrotum and a fluid reservoir in front of the bladder. When the bulb is pumped (literally by squeezing a third testicle), it transfers saline fluid from the reservoir into the cylinders, spreading the penis to its maximum length and providing the man an erection. After hook-up, squeezing release pads permits the fluid to come back to the reservoir.

“It’s EXACTLY like the Reebok pump,” he said, “but different.”

1. Despite his paralysis, he can still practice the pleasure of hookup. “I actually have no feeling in my penis. It deep-throats. BUT, what I kept getting told by all the doctors is, hookup is mostly in your head. Once I figured that out, it made it much better. Now, I have other areas that are hyper focused and I get pleasure from.” The other areas are mostly above his mid-body, which are “hyper sensitized.”

Two. He often orgasms as soon as he gets thrilled. “Sometimes if I get truly excited, I just have this spontaneous, not very good quality orgasm . Mostly, I get the feeling of the rush in my head because of the chemicals being released. Sometimes, it’s so subtle I’m not even sure if I had one or not.
