The Japanese automaker is already selling the seven-seater BR-V SUV in India, but it failed to live up to Honda’s expectations. With HRV, the company is aiming to pack the gap inbetween CRV and the BRV. This slightly premium SUV will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta and others in its league. Besides HRV, Honda is also planning to re-introduce the Civic and the fresh generation CRV seven seater in the Indian market.

Adding to it, Honda is also working on the next generation Amaze compact sedan that is scheduled to make global debut at Auto Expo 2018. If reports are to be believed, the much-awaited Honda HR-V will also be showcased to Indian audience at the biennial event in February 2018. In terms of pricing, there is a big difference inbetween the BR-V and CR-V and hence Honda is thinking on the lines to launch HR-V SUV. Adding to it, the company will assemble its 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. This engine will also be exported to Thailand from July 2017.

The same 1.6-litre engine will also power the India-spec Honda HRV and the upcoming Civic and CRV. The petrol version of the SUV will get the 1.5-litre i-VTEC unit that also powers the City sedan. Transmission options are likely to include a six-speed manual and a CVT automatic. Very first unveiled at the two thousand thirteen Detroit Motor Demonstrate under a different nameplate (Honda Vezel), the Honda HRV-V has aggressive looks with sturdy front profile and fresh elements. The rising shoulder line and hunchback silhouette enhance the visual appeal. Read – Honda WR-V India Launch In March
