Two hurt when buggy hit by alleged DUI driver

CENTRE HALL- Two people in a pony and buggy were injured Monday when they were hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Theadore Horman, 26, of Centre Hall.

Horman was charged with aggravated brunt while driving under the influence and possession of managed substances, state police at Rockview said.

Police said the accident occurred on Penns Valley Road, near Paradise Road in Penn Township.

Horman was traveling westbound when he rear-ended the buggy, police said. Both occupants of the buggy were ejected and Life-flighted from the scene, police said.

Horman was found to be under the influence of a managed substance and taken to Climb on Nittany Medical Center for a blood draw, police said.

Possession of drugs, firearms

BELLEFONTE – State police at Rockview are investigating an incident in which two Bellefonte residents, a 41-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were found in possession of drugs and illegally possessed firearms.

Police said the incident occurred at Two:53 p.m. Sunday at one hundred forty six Grove St., Boggs Township.

LAMAR – Vladimir Pavel Volovik, 34, of Vancouver, Wash., was charged with endangering the welfare of a child at eleven p.m. Friday at the Flying J Truck Stop in Porter Township, state police at Lamar report.

Police said they received a report of three youthfull children walking around and climbing in and out of semi-truck that was running, parked at the Flying J with no parent or guardian present.

On arrival police located the semi-truck with the engine running and three children – ages Four, five and nine – inwards with no parent or guardian.

Through investigation it was learned that the children were traveling with their father. The father returned to the truck after one hour and fifteen minutes and told police he was across the street getting a rubdown.

He was taken into custody and charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Clinton County Children and Youth assisted on scene.

DUI, fleeing and eluding

MILL HALL – Brandon Michael Rishel, 22, of Mill Hall, has been charged by state police from Lamar with recklessly endangering, fleeing and eluding, and driving under the influence following an incident at 1:16 a.m. Friday on the Jacksonville Road in Lamar Township.

Police said they attempted to stop a one thousand nine hundred ninety four Grand Am for numerous traffic violations but when the emergency lights were activated, Rishel accelerated and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit began on Jacksonville Road in the area of Fox Hollow Road and ended on Nittany Valley Drive when the accused lost control of the vehicle and spun out and went into a ditch, police said.

The vehicle was disabled, and the accused was taken into custody and found to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.

A 21-year-old woman from Mill Hall in the front seat was detained and later released, according to police.

MILL HALL – On Friday, a black Daisy Powerline 11A1 Co2 one hundred seventy seven Caliber airsoft gun and black folding knife were eliminated from the bushes along Middle Street, according to state police at Lamar.

The items have been entered into the property room due to lack of demonstrable ownership, police said.

Minor injury in crash

SALONA – A pickup truck driven by Susanna Q. Engle of Loganton was eastbound on Rag Valley Road when it struck an embankment and spinned down a steep embankment at 11:52 p.m. Thursday, state police at Lamar report.

Police said Engle was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.

Theft of cell phone

MILL HALL – A 39-year-old man reported to state police at Lamar that his cell phone was stolen from the boys’s restroom at Walmart on Hogan Boulevard at seven p.m. Friday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 570-726-6000.

LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven city police investigated a three-vehicle accident in the one hundred block of Bellefonte Avenue at Four:46 p.m. Thursday.

Drivers were Sara Ketchum of Lock Haven, Darla Jones of Lock Haven and David Muthler of Lock Haven. Police said Ketchum was blinded by the sun and ran into the rear of the Jones vehicle, which struck the rear of the Muthler vehicle as they waited at the crimson light.

There were no injuries, police said.

LOCK HAVEN – Annette M. Shoemaker of Howard reported to Lock Haven City Police that her car was struck while parked in the parking lot of Fox’s Restaurant, one hundred forty two E. Church St.

Shoemaker told police she parked in the lot at about 12:15 p.m. Aug. 23, and when she came out at 1:12 p.m., she noticed the vehicle had been struck.

There was harm to the left rear fender area including scrapes and groping, police said.

LOCK HAVEN – Robert George Jr., 46, of twenty eight Forest Lane, was charged by city police with criminal mischief to a motor vehicle.

Police said George was caught by surveillance camera carving a name into a two thousand thirteen Ford truck parked in the four hundred block of South Jones Street. Harm was estimated at $918, police said.

LOCK HAVEN- Lucas McCastle, 24, of Blanchard, was charged by city police with public drunkenness in the East Water Street parking lot at 7:34 p.m. Aug. 24. Police said the defendant was found passed out and intoxicated in his vehicle with vomit on his T-shirt.

CENTRE HALL- Christina Deligorges, 31, of Burton, MI, has been arrested for driving under the influence and possession of marijuana by state police at Rockview.

Police said they stopped Deligorges on Interstate eighty in Marion Township on July three at eight p.m.
